Claudia Roman

Claudia Roman began working with the Neighborhood Legal Services Program in May 2023. She is a paralegal in the Economic Security Unit. In this position she assists attorneys with cases regarding public benefits and conducts client intake. She is dedicated to helping clients get the benefits and assistance
they need.

Claudia was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia and came to Washington DC to study at American University. She graduated in December 2022 with a BA in Justice and Law with a specialization in Criminology. She also minored in Area Studies: Latin America and Spanish. Claudia is bilingual in English
and Spanish.

Before joining NLSP, Claudia had interned at numerous places such as the Museum of the Palestinian People, the Washington Office on Latin America, and the Portsmouth General District Court in Virginia to just name a few places. She was also the president of the Latinx American Student Organization (LASO) at American University for two years and was an active member of the Puerto Rican Student Organization (PRSO). She is excited to be a part of NLSP and to serve the DC community in the best way
possible.
