Kristi Schulenberg

Kristi joined NLSP in 2016 as the Project Manager/Staff Attorney to the Veterans Legal Assistance Project. She is based in the Rhode Island Avenue office.
 
From 2014 to 2016, Kristi served as the Deputy Director, Federal Programs and as a Staff Attorney at HomeBase, The Center for Common Concerns, a national nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to combating and ending homelessness. 
 
Prior to her legal career, Kristi served in leadership positions at nonprofit organizations including Amnesty International USA and Catholic Charities USA. In these roles, she focused on organizational planning and development, community outreach/capacity building, government relations, and program implementation/evaluation. Kristi is committed to working with low-income and economically marginalized individuals and communities to ensure access to justice.
 
Kristi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Dayton and a Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law. During law school, she received a California Bar Foundation Public Interest Scholarship for her public interest work. 
 
She is licensed to practice law in California, and is currently pursuing membership in the DC Bar.
