Sandy Arce

Sandy Arce started working at NLPS in December 2015. Sandy is the Bilingual Intake Specialist/Paralegal at NLSP’s Ward 7 Polk Street office. As a Bilingual Intake Specialist, she supports the Brief Services Unit through the initial intake process that helps D.C. residents seek legal assistance across language barriers. As a paralegal, she provides support to the Polk Street attorneys and assist in public benefit cases.

Prior to joining NLSP, Sandy was a paralegal at a personal injury law firm, which focused on providing assistance to the Latino community in Maryland. In addition, she also was an intern at the House of Representatives through the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

Sandy attended the University of California, San Diego, where she earned her Bachelors of Arts in International Studies: Sociology and Chinese Studies. She has exemplified her commitment to public service and social change. During college, she was a part of the AmeriCorps JusticeCorps program which placed her in the Supreme Court of San Diego assisting self-represented litigants in Family court. She is an alumnus of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, which helps creating the next generation of Latino leaders in government. She is a proud member of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority Inc., an organization that builds the rising generation of Latina leaders. She is an alumnus of Summer Search, a program dedicated to assist students in cultivating their skills with a customized program of experiences and relationships.
