Heather Molina joined NLSP in May 2008 as a Howard C. Westwood Fellow. Upon completing the fellowship, she was hired as an NLSP Staff Attorney in the Brief Services Unit. As a brief services attorney, she works with new applicants seeking legal assistance and provides legal advice and brief services and recommends cases for extended representation.
Heather holds a Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Nevada-Reno, an M.S. in Social Work with an emphasis on policy and children and families from Columbia University, and a J.D. from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law (UDC-DCSL). She received a Dean’s Cup from UDC-DCSL for her outstanding service to the school.
Prior to joining NLSP, Heather worked on special education matters at a small law firm in Washington, D.C. Additionally, as a student attorney at UDC-DCSL, she provided over 1,600 hours of legal services to low-income residents in the HIV/AIDS Legal Clinic and the Juvenile and Special Education Law Clinic. Heather is licensed to practice law in Washington, DC, and in Maryland.
