TRAINING FOR TENANTS AND PRO BONO ATTORNEYS ON HOW TO GET REPAIRS MADE

Are you a woman who is renting an apartment or house that needs repairs? Does your heat work? Do you have plumbing issues? Do all your windows close and your doors lock? Do all of your kitchen appliances work? Do you have other housing issues that affect the health and safety of you and your children? Winter weather is on the way and it is important to know that there is a Housing Conditions Calendar in D.C. Superior Court that tenants can use to sue landlords for D.C. Housing Code violations on an expedited basis.

Attend this 90-minute training program to learn more about how to file a complaint on the Housing Conditions Calendar and the relief that the court can grant you. We encourage tenants and lawyers interested in representing low-income tenants on a pro bono basis to attend this training program and learn more about this legal process. Tenants will also receive information about the legal aid providers in the District of Columbia who provide free legal information, advice and representation to low-income women. These workshops will be presented by Neighborhood Legal Services Program thanks to the generous financial support of the Women's Bar Association Foundation of the District of Columbia.
