HANNAH LIEBERMAN, NLSP'S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR,
TO TAKE POSITION WITH UDC SCHOOL OF LAW

Hannah Lieberman, Executive Director of the DC Neighborhood Legal Services Program, has announced that she will be departing NLSP to become the Associate Dean of Experiential and Clinical Programs at the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. The NLSP family will miss Hannah's strong, highly effective leadership of the Program, and we wish her well as she moves to a new position that will enable her to help develop the next generation of public-interest lawyers.

During Hannah's four and a half years of leadership, NLSP has steadily grown its dedicated and talented staff; implemented new programs to effectively address the legal needs of low-income District individuals and families; expanded the impact of NLSP’s work; and increased and diversified the Program's financial base.

Blake Biles, Co-Chair of NLSP's Board of Directors, said, "Hannah has contributed immensely to solidify NLSP's role as a critical provider of free civil legal services to DC residents, through the wonderful combination of her vision for NLSP's core programs and priorities; her highly-honed legal skills and experience; her zealous advocacy for NLSP's clients; her tireless devotion to staff colleagues; and her deep commitment to focusing her professional life upon the needs of others. UDC's School of Law -- particularly its students -- will benefit hugely from Hannah's presence in her new position." And Co-Chair Anne Ford said, "We have been very fortunate to have Hannah as our Executive Director -- she leads by hard work and example, and leaves NLSP in a great position to continue providing first-rate legal help to deserving persons throughout the District."

The NLSP Board is commencing a search for the Program's new Executive Director, with detailed information to follow. In the meantime, NLSP staff will continue the critical work that they do, day in and day out, to represent both present and future clients.

For additional information, please contact either Ms. Lieberman at 202-269-5103, or Mr. Biles at 202-942-5836.
