Managing Attorney Keeshea Turner Roberts is a candidate for the D.C Bar Family Law Section Steering Committee

Neighborhood Legal Services Program is proud to announce its support for Keeshea Turner Roberts as a candidate for the D.C Bar Family Law Section Steering Committee. Members of the Steering Committee coordinate programs, projects, and publications and conduct community outreach activities throughout the District of Columbia.
Ms. Turner Roberts is a Managing Attorney supervising NLSP’s Family Law and Public Benefits practices. She is a senior attorney in our Ward 7 (“Polk Street”) office, a community hub which brings together local stakeholders to address problems affecting the neighborhood and provides a readily accessible source of assistance for residents East of the River.

Ms. Turner Roberts handles complex and often highly charged family law cases, including third-party custody in which family members, often grandparents, seek custody of children in unstable environments. She has significant experience obtaining civil protective orders for victims of domestic violence and representing respondents wrongly accused of domestic violence. She regularly handles and supervises cases involving child support, including those where the obligor may be facing loss of a driver’s license, incarceration or wage garnishments because of an inability to satisfy an unrealistically high child support order. Her practice also includes a variety of public benefits matters, including Social Security (Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability cases), TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid denials. Ms. Turner Roberts is a frequent presenter at community-based clinics and serves as a guest lecturer at several local law schools.
