Aliya-Von Dinkins

Aliya-Von Dinkins is a Staff Attorney in the Housing Unit. She has an unwavering passion for client-centered advocacy. Prior to joining NLSP, Aliya-Von was a housing attorney at Maryland Legal Aid where she provided same-day representation for clients through Legal Aid’s Tenants’ Right to Counsel Project. As a housing attorney, she raised novel and complex housing issues regarding local, state, and federal laws. She also represented clients in voucher termination hearings before the Housing Opportunities Commission.

During the height of the pandemic, Aliya-Von served as a judicial law clerk to the Sixth District Court of Maryland for Montgomery County. After that, Aliya-Von worked as an assistant public defender at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, Post-Conviction Division located in Baltimore City. As an assistant public defender, she represented clients in post-conviction proceedings throughout the State of Maryland in Circuit Court. She also represented clients at parole revocation hearings before the Maryland Parole Commission.
