Eric SwensonStaff Attorney, Economic Security Unit
Eric joined Neighborhood Legal Services Program in August of 2020 as a Howard C. Westwood Fellow. Eric is currently a Staff Attorney in the Economic Security Unit primarily helping NLSP’s clients with consumer law and public benefits matters. He is based in the New York Avenue office. Eric has been a District resident since 2011.
Eric earned his J.D. from The Georgetown University Law Center with exceptional pro bono pledge recognition. While in law school, Eric volunteered or worked at the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, Legal Counsel for the Elderly, and the Disability Rights Section of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Eric was a member of the
Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy and organized the Volume 27 symposium “Fulfilling Olmstead: Community Living for People with Disabilities.”
Prior to law school, Eric earned his B.A. at the University of Chicago and then worked for seven years in emergency management and public health.
