Khari A. EdwardsSupervising Attorney, Economic Security Unit

Khari A. Edwards is the Supervising Attorney for the Economic Security Unit. Prior to joining NLSP as a Staff Attorney in the Housing Unit, she successfully represented parents accused of child abuse and neglect at the New Jersey Public Defender’s Office, tenants facing eviction at Northeast New Jersey Legal Services and claimants seeking benefits at BOOM!Health Legal Services (now Mobilization for Justice) in Bronx, New York. Immediately after law school, Khari held a clerkship in the Superior Court of New Jersey - Family Part where she drafted opinions for judges. More recently, she served as an Administrative Law Judge for the City of New York.

Khari earned a Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law - Newark where she was a Kinoy-Stavis Public Interest Fellow and Levin Law Scholar. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Film/Media Arts and African-American Studies from Temple University. She is a native of Washington D.C.
