Luer YinStaff Attorney, Family Law Unit

Luer Yin

Luer started her legal services career in 2018 at NLSP as part of GW's Domestic Violence Clinic. Since finding her passion for legal services work, Luer has been dedicated to working with families and victim/survivors. In her current role as a family law attorney, Luer represents people in their domestic violence cases as well as in various other family law matters.

After graduating law school, Luer worked for 3 years as a domestic violence/family law attorney for Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara California. Upon returning to DC, Luer worked at CLC on education, housing, public benefits, access to healthcare and guardianship cases. While Luer does miss the Santa Barbara community with its balmy perpetually 75 degrees Southern California weather and being 20 minutes from the beach, Luer is excited to be back in DC, back in family law and back at NLSP!

While studying International Human Rights Law at Oxford University, Luer acquired a love for football [soccer] and can often be seen cheering on the Three Lions and Lionesses in international tournaments or nervously awaiting the final Premier League points totals. Thankfully she has a mischievous but loving little black cat and an adorable but rambunctious corgi to bring a smile to her face if things don't go to plan for her favorite team. She also loves to read and dabbles in fiber art in her spare time.

Luer got her BA in English Literature from University of Southern California (Fight on!) and her JD from George Washington University. Luer can be reached by email at lyin@nlsp.org and by phone at 202-800-2158 ext. 1806.
