Mary Kate EdelsonIntake Specialist
Mary Kate Edelson joined NLSP in November 2024 as an Intake Specialist. Mary Kate is originally from Pennsylvania and moved to Washington, D.C. in 2023. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic and Investigative Science from West Virginia University (WVU) in 2022. While she was there, she had an internship with the WV Innocence Project and she worked at a WVU law clinic, which provided legal representation for people below the poverty line. After college, she worked as a legal assistant for a law firm in Morgantown, West Virginia. Then, she received her master's degree in Forensic Psychology from George Washington University. While getting her master's degree she volunteered at Opportunities, Alternatives, and Resources which helps people who were recently released from jail get the resources they need. She also completed an internship with the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.
