Maryam Hatcher Senior Counsel, Corporate Sustainability at Mars, Inc.
Maryam Hatcher is an experienced regulatory attorney and litigator with expertise in sustainability and environmental law. She began her career in nationally-ranked environmental legal practices before moving to senior in-house positions, including her current role as Senior Counsel, Corporate Sustainability at Mars, Inc. Maryam regularly presents on sustainability and environmental law issues and has also published several articles and a book chapter on related topics. Maryam maintains an active pro bono practice, representing vulnerable women and children in the District of Columbia in domestic violence and family law cases. She also chairs the DC Bar’s Attorney-Client Arbitration Board (ACAB) and has served as a volunteer Attorney Arbitrator for ACAB since 2019. Maryam’s achievements include recognition as a National Bar Association 40-Under-40 awardee and selection as a Rising Star in Environmental Litigation by the Washington, DC Super Lawyers. She is an honors graduate of Howard University School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Howard Law Journal. Maryam lives in the District of Columbia with her husband and son.
