Nicholas PattenStaff Attorney, Housing Unit
Nick is a Staff Attorney with the Housing Unit helping NLSP's clients with issues such as eviction defense, conditions, and public housing matters.
A native Iowan, Nick earned his B.S. in Sociology from Iowa State University in 2011. For many years he worked as an adult educator, teaching GED skills, reading comprehension, and computer literacy. He also worked in homeless shelters as a shelter monitor, teacher, and intake specialist prior to attending law school in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2020. As a student attorney, he interned with Legal Aid of North Carolina, working in the Medical-Legal Partnership and eviction diversion programs.
