Olivia Carvajal

Olivia joined Neighborhood Legal Services Program in February 2024. She is a staff attorney in NLSP’s Brief Services and Family Law Units.

Before NLSP, Olivia worked as the Clinical Program Legal Specialist at the University of DC David A. Clarke School of Law where she supported all nine legal clinics and law students each semester. She was the attorney of record for immigration clients and triaged all DC residents needing legal assistance. Prior to working at UDC Law Olivia worked as Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Small Business Administration by providing Economic Injury Disaster Loans during the pandemic.

Olivia graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Public Management and Policy. She earned her JD from Arizona Summit Law School. In law school, Olivia assisted with legal clinic work for citizenship renewal requests and Wills for Heroes, a program free estate planning legal services to first responder personnel in Arizona. As a law student, Olivia interned in Congressman Ruben Gallego’s Washington, DC office and his Phoenix district office, working on immigration and veterans’ affairs. She moved to Washington, DC after completing a minority health equity fellowship for the Baltimore City Health Department working on the opioid crisis.
