Philip Scholz

Philip Scholz began working as a paralegal in the Brief Services Unit in April 2023. In this role, he assists in the intake and assessment of new clients’ legal needs to determine how to best serve them.

Hailing from Germany and then New York, Philip is fulfilling one of his dreams by relocating to Washington, D.C. He graduated from Loyola University in 2011 with a BA in Global Studies and earned a Paralegal Certificate at Stony Brook University in 2019. Holding a lifelong passion for public service, Philip has worked for the Suffolk County Legislature, the Long Island Advocacy Center , the Guide Dog Foundation, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. Communities he has served include hurricane victims, the homeless, inmates and parolees, and dogs. A 2008 Paralympian, Philip continues to enjoy swimming and traveling alongside writing fiction.
