Robert WarrenStaff Attorney, Brief Services Unit

Rob is currently a Staff Attorney in the Brief Services Unit at NLSP. In this role, he is the first point of contact for many of NLSP’s cases. Rob helps to identify cases in which it is immediately apparent that advice or brief (limited) legal service is appropriate and render those services.

Prior to joining the NLSP team, Rob worked as an attorney for various agencies in the District of Columbia government, retiring in May 2023 after 35 years of service. During his tenure with the District government, Rob worked as Legislative Staff Director for a D.C. Councilmember, Managing Attorney for the Child and Family Services Agency, General Counsel and Deputy Director for the former Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, and Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Human Services. His practice areas included personnel and employment law, Freedom of Information Act issues, government ethics, risk management, and contracts and procurement.

A native of Queens, New York, Rob received his B.A. in Political Science from Howard University in 1982, and his J.D. from the Howard University School of Law in 1985. Rob can be reached on rwarren@nlsp.org or (202) 269-5112.
