Paula D. Scott, Esq.

Paula D. Scott has many years of experience as a civil legal services lawyer. Ms. Scott began her legal career as a trial attorney with the United States Civil Aeronautics Board. She served as a lawyer and managing attorney with Neighborhood Legal Services Program, and later as Chief of the Civil Legal Services Division of the Public Defender Services for the District of Columbia. In 2013, she joined the Public Justice Advocacy Clinic at George Washington University Law School as a Professorial Lecturer in Law.

Ms. Scott has served on many committees, task forces and working groups of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, the DC Consortium of Legal Services Providers and the DC Bar and has received numerous awards in recognition of her work, including the first Jerrold Scoutt Prize for outstanding legal services lawyers from the DC Bar Foundation, two Stuart Stiller Awards, the Washington Council of Lawyers President’s Award, the Equal Justice Award from the David A. Clarke School of Law and the Thurgood Marshall Justice Award presented by the Student Bar Association of the Georgetown University Law Center.
