Marissa DeallEqual Justice America Veterans' Rights Fellow
Marissa joined Neighborhood Legal Services Program in August 2026 as an Equal Justice America Veterans' Right Fellow.
Marissa received her B.S. in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Mercer University in 2022 and her J.D., with honors, from Mercer University School of Law in May 2025. She also received a Public Service Certificate in recognition of her commitment to working in her community.
During her time in law school, she acted as a student attorney in the Habeas Project where she worked on post-conviction claims involving constitutional issues and claims of actual innocence. Marissa also participated in the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights where her studies focused on war, climate change, and the collateral consequences of incarceration. Prior to joining NLSP, Marissa completed a clerkship in the Circuit Court for Prince George's County, Maryland.
